Privacy policy

Apex STEM Education Inc. (“we,” “us”) operates apexstem.org. This policy describes what information we collect through the site and how we use it.

Information we collect

  • Contact and interest forms. When you submit our contact form (hosted by Tally) or email us directly, we receive the fields you provide — typically name, email, message, and optional details about sponsorship or program interest.
  • Newsletter signup. If you subscribe via Sender.net, we collect your email address and subscription preferences.
  • Donations. Online gifts are processed by Zeffy. We receive donor name, contact information, and gift amount as needed for tax acknowledgment and nonprofit record-keeping. Payment card data is handled by Zeffy, not stored on our servers.
  • Server logs. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may log IP address, browser type, and pages visited for security and performance. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is designed to be privacy-friendly and does not require advertising cookies.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Student recruitment inquiries should come from a parent or guardian.

How we use information

We use collected information to:

  • Respond to inquiries about programs, sponsorship, volunteering, and grants
  • Process donations and send legally required acknowledgments
  • Send newsletters you have opted into (you may unsubscribe at any time)
  • Maintain nonprofit records, security, and site reliability

We do not sell personal information.

Third-party services

We use trusted processors to operate the site:

  • Tally — contact form hosting
  • Zeffy — donation processing for 501(c)(3) gifts
  • Sender.net — email newsletter delivery (when enabled)
  • Cloudflare — hosting, CDN, and privacy-oriented analytics

Each provider has its own privacy policy governing data they process on our behalf. Links to third-party sites (for example our team site or social media) are not controlled by us.

Retention & security

We retain information only as long as needed for the purposes above, grant reporting, and legal obligations. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards; no internet transmission is completely secure.

Your choices

You may request access, correction, or deletion of contact information we hold by emailing hello@apexstem.org. Newsletter subscribers can use the unsubscribe link in any message.

Changes

We may update this policy and will revise the effective date above when we do.
