Our Commitment

Apex STEM Education is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance Status

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) define requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. We are in the process of conducting formal accessibility audits and welcome feedback. We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing effort and we are continually working to improve.

Accessibility Features

This website includes the following accessibility features:

  • Keyboard Navigation: All functionality is available using a keyboard
  • Skip Links: "Skip to main content" link at the top of each page
  • Semantic HTML: Proper heading structure and landmark regions
  • Alt Text: Descriptive alternative text for images
  • Color Contrast: Text and background colors meet WCAG contrast requirements
  • Resizable Text: Text can be resized up to 200% without loss of content or functionality
  • Reduced Motion: Respects user preferences for reduced animation

Known Limitations

We are aware of the following limitations and are working to address them:

  • Some images are AI-generated and may lack perfect alt text descriptions
  • Third-party embeds (forms, donation widgets) may not fully conform to WCAG standards
  • Mobile menu animation could be improved for screen reader users
